Multispecies Animal Learning Complex (MALC) Update:
We are grateful for the enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the opening of the MALC. At this time, we are not offering tours for the general public or school groups. Thank you for your continued support and interest as we move into the next phase of the MALC. Updates will be posted here when we begin offering tours.
Waterman has 5 different meeting spaces available for reservation with varying occupancy numbers to fit your group needs. At this time all tours are free, however, prices for each meeting space will vary based on the duration of your meeting and your type of group. More information can be found below for pricing at Waterman meeting spaces.

As of Thursday, January 1, 2026, a new policy was put into effect due to the changing construction on site at Waterman, as well as the increase in events; we have implemented an Event Parking Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). As Waterman plans for the future and welcoming more guests to experience the facilities along with faculty, staff, and students, it is of importance to coordinate parking to provide consistency and ensure a positive experience during guests encounter at Waterman.

*Depending on the number of vehicles your event will have, Waterman staff may ask you to arrange for parking offsite if we cannot accommodate the number of vehicles needed at Waterman.

Tour times generally range from 30-90 minutes but are subject to change due to varying factors such as size of the group, time constraints, etc.

At this time, we do not offer individual/family tours due to staff availability. We do offer tours for groups of 10 people or more.

Current MALC tours are limited to only internal CFAES groups as we continue the transition into the new space.

For biosecurity purposes, if requesting a tour at the CEARC, please do not visit any other gardens/greenhouses/other outdoor field plots or other indoor growing areas before your tour.

In order to better protect our animals and reserch projects, groups may only visit either the CEARC or the MALC on one visit, not both.

- The group hosting the event is responsible for rearranging the room if they would like the room set up differently than the standard classroom set up.
The group hosting the event is responsible for cleaning up any meeting space utilized. Here are a few guidelines to follow to ensure our spaces are kept neat and clean for the next group:

Tables and chairs returned to original configuration

Tables wiped down with the provided cleaner

All garbage removed and placed in dumpster (see button below for map of locations)

Restrooms left in clean and orderly condition

All items removed from the building
-
Floors vacuumed / swept as needed

Meeting room and lobby lights turned off

Any damage / issues reported to Waterman Staff

Currently, there are no catering restrictions at Waterman. Groups are free to choose any caterer they would like.

Waterman hours are Dawn to Dusk.

Pets must be on leashes at all times.

Do not enter any research zones, buildings, or construction zones without a Waterman Employee.

Do not enter any gardens flower beds or other spaces such as the Garden of Hope without an escort.

Please reference the map below of areas where the public are currently allowed and not allowed. To ensure your safety during the construction, and the integrity of various research projects occurring at Waterman we ask that you please follow these guidelines.

Walking, running, biking, etc. is not allowed during business hours (Monday – Friday) currently due to construction on the property.
