
What is your role at Waterman Lab/CFAES?
My role is to coordinate the use of the CFAES greenhouses, high-tunnels and nursery pad space, as well as provide operational support to the faculty, staff, and students who use these facilities.
What brought you to The Ohio State University?
I was driven to come to CFAES at The Ohio State University to help contribute to the mission of sustaining life, specifically by providing support to the faculty directly engaged in this challenge.
Why work for The Ohio State University?
To make a small contribution to the mission of CFAES and the university.
What interested you in your field of study?
The field of agriculture was interesting to me because it addresses the fundamental challenge of providing enough food for a growing world population.
Where is your hometown?
Canfield, Ohio.
What is an interesting fact about you?
Prior to coming to work at OSU in 2019, I farmed truck crops for 22 years in Central Ohio. I became acutely aware of the challenges of growing specialty crops in the silt loam soils similar to the soils found here at Waterman Lab.
